Lu LIU from China, ACIC Student, 2009

The Dream

To study at an Australian University after High School in Australia

The Difficulties

Lu LUI came to Australia when she was studying in high school. She was never a lazy student but her results were relatively low in the trial exam so she did not sit the HSC exam. After being allocate to another class to study Business Information Management, her confidence went down to the lowest point. Still, she tried her best during that time to study hard together with other good friends. This period of time meant a lot to her and eventually she graduated as the top student of the class. At that time she thought this good results would be helpful in applying for universities. It was very frustrating then to know it was just opposite.

The Process

When she was worried about not being able to be admitted into any university, a friend introduced one agency to her. The friend told her that this agency would assist her in finding my dream university. This well-known and most trusted agency by students and parents was ACIC.

Lu LUI's counsellor was Nalumi. After understanding Lu's background and goals, Nalumi helped Lu to apply for a range of pathway programs which enables Lu to study at an university in the shortest possible time.

The Outcome

Lu successfully obtained offers from many universities including Macquarie University, Curtin University of Technology, and Charles Sturt University. This helped Lu to regain her confidence back. From the low point during her high school studies, she now has a choice of universities and a bright future.

The Comment from the Student

My counsellor Nalumi always looks after me like a parent of mine. I remember there was once when I handed in some documentation to Nalumi, she asked me whether I could catch up with studies and reminded me of studying hard, revising regularly, etc.. From what I have known and seen, ACIC has successfully helped lots students to apply for university courses, college courses, migration courses and language course. Whenever I encounter any problem, I will go to ACIC to talk to my counsellor for advise, which can help me to put an perfect end to my study.

In the end, I wish all the best to ACIC. I will not waste all the efforts ACIC has put into helping me.
